The GEOS Foundation Grant Program

The Society provides financial support through the GEOS Foundation for geographical research, scientific expeditions and field studies.

Our Grants are provided to emerging scientists who through their research are seeking to further our understanding of our collective cultural heritage or the natural world.

 

Past GEOS Foundation Grant Recipients:

 

• 2013 Mahmoud Marai, Desert Explorer, for his research about the lost civilization of Yam.
• 2012 Dr. Kroum N. Batchvarov, Assistant Professor of Maritime Archaeology, University of Connecticut, for his work to conduct a ground breaking excavation in Tobago Habour. 
• 2011 Dr. Piotr Bojakowski, Co-Director of the Warwick Project; PhD Candidate in the Nautical Archaeology Program at Texas A&M University, for his work on the hull remains of a 17th century sailing vessel.
